We’re calling for Russell Brand’s release through lawful process.
Time matters to a fair defence. After decades, messages can disappear, witnesses can become unavailable and memories can fade. The accused must never be expected to prove innocence using evidence that can no longer be recovered.
We question whether the law provides sufficient safeguards, and support a properly evidenced challenge to his conviction. Delayed reporting does not make an allegation false. Equally, an inability to disprove it cannot establish guilt.
